ADDXlfG SECTIONS 11.04.727 AND 11.04.728
PROHXBZTZNG PAR~XNC ON CERTAIN PORTIONS OF
24TH STREET (STATE HICI. I~AY 178)
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council 0f the City of Bakers£teld
that b~mpter 11.04 is hereby amended by adding Sections 11.04.727
and 11.04.728 to read as follows:
11.04.727 PARKING PROHIBITED ON A POItTION OF 24TH STREET
WHICH IS CALXFO~ STATE HXC~AY 178 (UoSo NTC~/AY 58). (a) ~hen
appropriate st~ns are posted, no person shell stop, park, or leave
sCandtng any vehicle ~hether attended or unattended, except when
necessary to avoid con£1ict with ocher traf£1c .or in complLance
with the directions of a peace officer or traffic control signal
device, on 'the sou.ch.s.ide of State. Highway 178 (U. S. Higtmay 58)
for a distance o~ 176 feet ~e'st of the Southern Pacific RatXroad
Cracks.
(b) The provisions of Chis section shall not apply Co
the driver or owner of any service vehicle o~ned or operated by or
£or or operated under contract with a utility or public utility,
whether privately, municipally or publicly o~ned, used in che
construction, operation,' removal or repair of utility or public
utility property or facilities, when such vehicle is stopped,

11.04.728 Th~s ordinance shell cease co be operative
s~c months after receipt by che City Counc~l of written notice of
withdrawal of approval of the Department of Public ~orks, of Che
State of California.
This ordinance shall ~ake e££ect thirty day8 £rom and
the date ot~ its passase.
