PROVIDE FOR l~tX~ DEAD END CORRIDOR LENGTH OF
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council o£ the City of Bakersfield
as follows:
SECTION 1.
13.16.068 Public Corridor,s -- Ha. x .imps.. Length. - ,Dead End
Cor~.t. dors. Volume 1. Section 3304 (d) of the Uniform Building
Code is amended to read as follovs:
Section 3304 (d) ,Access to ..Exi. ts. l~ten more
than one exit is required, exits shall be
arranged so that it is possible to go in
either direction from any point in a corridor
or exterior exit balcony to a separate exit,
except from dead ends permitted by this
section.
Exception: Dead Ends. Corridors and exterior
exit balconies vith dead ends are permitted
vhen the dead end does not exceed twenty feet
(20') in length.
SECTION 2.
This ordinance shall be effective thirty (30) days after
its enactment by the City Council o£ the City of Bakersfield.
