AN ORDINANCE ADDINC SECTION .11.04. 795 TO THE
HUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF B~KERSFIELD
P~RTAININC TO AUTOHOBILg O~NER RESPONSIBILITY
· FOR VIOLATIONS OF CERTAIN TRAFFIC PROVISIONS
OF THE HUNICIPAL CODE.
B~ IT ORDAINED by ~he. Council of ~he City of Bakersfield
that Section 11.04.795 is added to the Municipal Code of the City
of Bakersfield to read as
11.04. 795 .O~ERS ' RgSPONSIBILITY..
(a) It is unlawful for the owner, lessee, user, or any
other person, employing or o~her~ise directing the driver of any
vehicle to cause, allo~, suffer or permit the operation of the
vehicle upon a public alley, street or highway in any manner con-
trary to the provisions of this chapter.
(b) It is unlawful for the o~ner, lessee, user, or any
other person, e~ploying or othe~ise directing the driver of any
· vehicle to cause, allme, suffer or permit a vehicle to be parked in
any manner contrary to the provisions of this cl~apter.
(c) Any owner, lessee, user, or any other person employing
or other~ise directing the driver of any vehicle who causes, allo~s,
suffers or permits the operation of a vehicle upon a public alley,
street or highway or who causes, allo~s, suffers or permits a
vehicle to be parked in any manner contrary to the provisions of
this chapter shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction
thereof, shall, unless other penal~y is herein provided, be
punished for the first offense by a fine hoc to exceed $50.00 or
imprisonment in the county Jail for not more than five days; for
a second violation within a period of one year, by a fine not to

than ten days or by both such fine and imprisonm .ent; for a third
and additional offense committed within one year, by a fine not
exceeding $300.00 or by imprisonment in the c .ounty jail for a period
not to exceed ninety days or by both such fine and imprisonment.
This ordinance shall become ef£ective thirty days £rom
and after the date of its ~assage.

passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a
regular meeting thereof held on the 17th day o4 January, 1966,
