AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 17.12.020 OF
CHAPTER 17.12 (ZONING MAP) OF THE MUNICIPAL
CODE OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD.
WHEREAS, in accordance with the procedure set forth, in
the provisions of Title 17 of the Municipal Code of the City of
Bakersfield, the Planning Co~-~ission and City Council have held
hearings respectively, on a motion to zone certain property now
being annexed to said City, and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined after due
consideration of the motion and recommendation of the Planning
Co~.~ission, herein on file, together with the reasons advanced at
the hearing, for the zoning of said property, that said zoning
should be authorized upon annexation of said property to the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the
City of Bakersfield, as follows:
SECTION 1.
That Section 17.12.020 of Chapter 17.12 (Zoning Map) of
the Municipal Code of the City of Bakersfield, be and the same is
hereby amended by extending the boundaries of said map to include
those certain properties in the County of Kern located between
Columbus Avenue to the north, 178 Freeway to the south, Haley
Street to the west, and Mt. Vernon Avenue to the east, known as
Mt. Vernon No. 2 Annexation, in a C-2-D (Commercial - Architectural
Design) Zone, and in a "P" (Automobile Parking) Zone, upon the
annexation of said property to the City of Bakersfield, the
boundaries of which property are shown on the map hereto attached
and made a part of this ordinance, and are more specifically
described as follows:
TO A C-2-D (COMMERI. CAL - ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN) ZONE:
Ail that portion that lies within a parcel of land
situate in the County of Kern State of California
and being a portion of Sections 15, 16, 21, and 22,
Township 29 South, Range 28 East, M.D.B.M., and
more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the north line of
the south 55 feet of said Section 16 with the
northerly prolongation of the east line of Lot 1,
Tract No. 1282, as said Tract is shown on a map
recorded July 25, 1946, in Book 5 of maps at page
156, Records of said Kern County, said intersection
also being a point of intersection of the corporate
boundary of the City of Bakersfield as defined by
Ordinance No. 984, New Series with the corporate
boundary of the City of Bakersfield as defined by
Ordinance No. 1579, New Series:
Thence (1) easterly along said corporate boundary
as defined by Ordinance No. 984, New Series to
intersect the west line of the east 55 feet of said
Section 16, said intersection being a point on the
corporate boundary of the City of Bakersfield as
defined by Ordinance No. 1267, New Series;
Thence (2) easterly and southerly along the last
named corporate boundary to intersect the south line
of said Section 15, said intersection being a point
on the corporate boundary of the City of Bakersfield
as defined by Ordinance No. 1452, New Series and
also being a point on the east line of the west 55
feet of said Section 22;
Thence (3) southerly along the last named corporate
boundary and the last named east line to intersect
the easterly extension of the north line of Tract
No. 1629, as said tract is shown on a map recorded
July 16, 1952, in Book 8 of Maps, Page 23, records
of said Kern County;
Thence (4) westerly along the last named north line
and easterly extension thereof to intersect the
centerline of Floral Drive as said centerline is
shown on a map of said Tract No. 1629, said inter-
section also being the southeast corner of Tract
No. 1713, as said Tract is shown on a map recorded
July 2, 1954, in Book 8 of Maps, page 135, records
of said Kern County;
Thence (5) north 0° 15' 47" east along the east line
and northerly extension thereof of said Tract No.
1713 to intersect the southerly right of way line of
State Highway Route 178 (VI-Kef-178), said inter-
section being 81.20 feet northerly, as measured
along the east line and northerly extension of the
east line of said Tract No. 1713 from the northeast
corner of Lot 29, said Tract No. 1713;

Thence (6) along said southerly right of way line
of the following 10 courses: S. 71° 29' 31" W.,
351.97 feet;
Thence (7) S. 72° 07' 43" W., 100.00 feet;
Thence (8) S. 74° 59' 28" W., 100.13 feet;
Thence (9) N. 88° 13' 03" W., 29.73 feet;
Thence (10) S. 72° 07' 43" W., 272.00 feet;
Thence (11) S. 71° 33' 20" W., 500.03 feet;
Thence (12) S. 69° 04' 33" W., 375.53 feet;
Thence (13) S. 20° 55' 27" E., 105.04 feet to the
beginning of a tangent curve;
Thence (14) southerly along said curve, concave to
the northwest with a radius of 200 feet, through
an angle of 111° 12' 14" an arc distance of 388.17
feet to a point of tangency;
Thence (15) N. 89° 43' 13" W., along said southerly
right of way and extension thereof to intersect
the west right of way line of Haley Street, said
west right of way line also being the west line of
the east 15 feet of Lot 12, Mesa Tract No. 2, as
said Mesa Tract No. 2 is shown on a map recorded
February 13, 1914, in Book 3, Page 4 of Maps,
records of said Kern County;
Thence (16) northerly along the last named west
line and extension thereof and the west line and
extension thereof of the east 15 feet of Block 3,
Wilshire Heights No. 3 addition, as said Wilshire
Heights No. 3 is shown on a map recorded May 4,
1911, in Book 2, Page 25 of Maps, records of said
Kern County and the west line of the east 15 feet
of Villa' Lot 12 of Drury's Addition to Kern City,
as per map recorded March 18, 1907 in Book 1,
Page 101 of Mmps, records of said Kern County to
intersect the north line of the south 465.17 feet
of said Villa Lot 12;
Thence (17) easterly along the last named north
line to intersect the west right of way lime of
Haley Street, formerly Hay Street, as said Hay
Street is shown on a map of Tract No. 1282, filed
for record July 25, 1946 in Book 5, Page 156 of
Maps, records of said Kern County;
Thence (18) northerly along the last named west
right of way line and extensions thereof to the
point of beginning and containing 130 acres more
or less.
EXCEPTING the north 325 feet of the south 605 feet
of the east 477 feet and the west 140 feet of the
east 617 feet of the north 200 feet of the south
480 feet of Lot 4 and the west 478 feet of the

north 325 feet of the south 605 feet of Lot 3,
Drury's Addition to Kern City, filed in the Kern
County Recorder's Office on March 18, 1907.
'ALSO EXCLUDING all street right of ways.
TO A "P" (AUTOMOBILE PARKING) ZONE:
The north 325 feet of the south 605 feet of the
east 477 feet and the west 140 feet of the east
617 feet of the north 200 feet of the south 480
feet of Lot 4 and the west 478 feet of the north
325 feet of the south 605 feet of Lot 3, Drury's
Addition to Kern City, filed in the Kern County
Recorder's Office on March 18, 1907.
SECTION 2.
This., ordinance shall become effective upon the annexation
of the above-described territory to the City of Bakersfield.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was
passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at
a regular meeting thereof held on the 10th day of March, 1969,
by the following vote:
