Home My WebLink AboutORD NO 1773 ORDINANCE NO. 1773 NEW SERIES AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD AMENDING SECTION 3.14.240(g) OF CHAPTER 3.14 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE AND AMENDING SECTIONS 3.18.032, 3.18.056 AND 3.18.058 OF CHAPTER 3.18 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD. BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield as follows: SECTION 1. That Section 3.14.240(g) of the Municipal Code of the City of Bakersfield be amended to read as follows: Section 3.14.240 (g) Termination-Retirement/Firemen. Fire Department personnel retiring from city service shall be subject to the Relief and Pension Fund as contained in Ordinance No. 1758. Mandatory retirement age for Firemen is 62. SECTION 2. That Section 3.18.032 of the Municipal Code of the City of Bakersfield be amended to read as follows: Section 3.18.032 Work Periods/Fire Department. Members of the Fire Department assigned to firefighting shall be on duty for a 24-hour period from 0800 (8:00 a.m.) to 0800 (8:00 a.m.) the following day. Fire Department personnel shall work one hundred forty-four (144) 24-hour shifts per year. SECTION 3. That Section 3.18.056 of the Municipal Code of the City of Bakersfield be amended to read as follows: Section 3.18.056 Firemen's 24-Hour Shift Pay Rate. (See attached list marked "Exhibit A".) SECTION 4. That former Section 3.18.056 is renumbered to read 3.18. 058. SECTION 5.
