AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD AMENDING
SECTION 3.22.020 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE PROVIDING
FOR THE MAINTENANCE OF A CITY MEDICAL PROGRAM,
AMOUNT OF CITY CONTRIBUTION, ELIGIBILITY OF
MEMBERS AND SALARY DEDUCTIONS FOR ADDITIONAL
INSURANCE.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield
as follows:
SECTION 1.
That Section 3.22.020 of the Municipal Code is amended
to read as follows:
3.22. 020 Group Medical Insurance
(a) City Payment - The City of Bakersfield shall
maintain or contract for a medical insurance
program for officers and employees of the City.
(b) Amount of City Contribution - The City of
Bakersfield shall pay that portion of the medical
insurance premium which is attributed to the
officer or employee but not that portion
attributable to the officer or employee's
family.
(c) Who Covered - All officers and employees of the
City electing to be covered by the City's medical
program except Members of Boards, Commissions or
Agencies and part-time or temporary officers and
employees.
(d) Salary Deduction - Any eligible officer or employee
of the City who elects to participate in the City's
medical insurance program may authorize deductions
to be made from his or her salary for payment of
additional premium charges for family coverage,
which deductions shall be paid by the Finance
Director to the carrier of the group insurance.
SECTION 2.
The provisions of this ordinance are effective as of
July 1, 1969.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was
passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a
regular meeting thereof held on the 16th day of June , 1969,
