HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD NO 1840 ORDINANCE NO. 1840 NEW SERIES AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD, AMENDING SECTION 11.04.650 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE BY DESIGNATING CERTAIN STATE HIGHWAYS AND LOCAL CITY STREETS AS TRUCK ROUTES. WHEREAS, the State of California, Division of Highways, has reevaluated their opinion of a recently enacted ordinance of this City regulating the parking of large trucks and trailers on the truck routes between the hours of 5 P. M. and 9 A. M., with exceptions; and WHEREAS, the State Division of Highways now desires and has requested that this ordinance, being Subsection (e) of Section 11.04.650 be applicable to state highways within the City of Bakersfield and thereby requiring the designating of certain state highways as truck routes within the meaning of our ordinance; and WHEREAS, the traffic authority has further recommended that two city streets on which are located numerous businesses serving the needs of the trucking industry, be designated as truck routes within the City of Bakersfield. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, by the Council of the City of Bakersfield as follows: SECTION I Section 11.04.650(a) (Truck routes established) be amended by the additional designation of the following state highways and city streets as truck routes: 16. Golden State Avenue from 21st Street to the northerly City Limits. 17. A~i of Niles and West Niles Street with~,n the City Limits. '" 18. Ail of Monterey and West Monterey Street, west of Brown Street. 19. Ail of Sumner Street within the City Limit s. 20. East Truxtun Avenue from Sumner Street to the Easterly City Limits. 21. 24th Street and Rosedale Highway from the westerly City Limits to Golden State Avenue. 22. 23rd Street and service from "B" Street to "Q" Street. 23. Ail of Pierce Road, within the City Limits. 24. Ail of Oak Street between Brundage Lane and 24th Street.
