HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD NO 1848 ORDINANCE NO. 1848 NEW SERIES AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD AMENDING SECTION 17.56.020 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE (SCHEDULE OF OFF-STREET PARKING REquIREMENTS). WHEREAS, the Planning Co~-~-aission was of the opinion that there is a difference in 'parking demands of a hospital and convalescent hospital and a convalescent hospital and convalescent home; and WHEREAS, the amendment of Section 17.56.020 by the additional designation herein stated would 'provide for this differential in parking demands. Required Off-Street Specified Use Parkin~ Facility Convalescent Hospitals., an 3/4 space per bed extended medical care facility NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield that Section 17.56.020 (Schedule of Off-Street Parking Requirements) be amended by the hereinabove-stated' language to read as follows: 17.56. 020 Schedule of off- street parkin~ requirements. Off- street parking facilities shall be 'provided and maintained for the following specified uses or facilities as follows: Required Off-Street Specified Use Parkin~ Facility One-family & two-family dwellings 1 space per dwelling Mul~.i-fami.ly dwellings - 6--~.~s .~-~s~ ........... Multi-family dwellings - 7 units or more 1 1/2 spaces per dwelling Multi-family dwellings - 3 or more bedrooms 2 spaces per dwelling Required Off-Street Specified Use Parkin~ Facility Hospitals, sanitariums, asylums, club hotels, boarding and rooming houses 1 space per bed Convalescent Hospitals, an extended medical care facility 3/4 space per bed Nursing and convalescent homes, rest homes and homes for the aged 1/2 space per bed Hotel and motels 1 parking space per Additional 'parking required for meeting sleeping unit rooms, restaurants, bars and office space Delicatessens and take-out food (not to 1 'parking space for each be eaten on premises) 0 300 s~uare feet Retail shops, general coum~ercial (other Minimum of 5 parking than listed) and auto repair spaces required Restaurants, bars, skating rinks, public 1 parking space for each gyms, dance halls, and swimming pools 100 square feet of floor (pool and deck area) space Lodge halls, banquet rooms, churches, 1 parking space for each funeral homes, mortuaries, sports arenas, 5 seats provided.
