AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD AMENDING SECTION 11.04.620 OF
THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD
PERTAINING TO ONE-WAY STREETS AND ALLEYS.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield
as follows:
SECTION 1.
That Section 11.04.620 of the Municipal Code of the City
of Bakersfield be amended to read as follows:
11.04.620 One-way streets and alleys established. A. Ail alleys,
as defined in VC 110, may, after survey by the Traffic Authority,
be designated one-way by proper signposting. If an alley is not
signposted as defined by this section, it is then considered to
be a two-way alley. Proper signposting should consist as follows:
1. "Exit Only - Do Not Enter" sign at the end of the
alley to which vehicles are not allowed access.
2. A minimum of three painted arrows on the pavement
of the alley per block, indicating the direction of
travel.
3. Any additional signposting as may be deemed
necessary for the Traffic Authority.
B. Ail. alleys must be designated one-way in a constant pattern
so that no alleys run into each other with opposite one-way traffic
flow.
C. In accordance with Section 11.04.180, and when properly
signposted, traffic shall move only in the direction indicated upon
the following streets:
1. WEST TO EAST:
Monte Vista Drive .... Panorama Drive to Pasatiempo Drive.
Niles Street ....... Beginning at a point two hundred
seventy-six feet east of the
intersection of the center-lines
of Niles Street and Brown Street.
23rd Street ...... Beginning at a point 67 feet east
of the intersection of the center-
lines of 24th Street and "B" Street
and ending at a point on 24th
Street at the intersection of the
center-lines of 24th Street and
"Q" Street via two connections
between 23rd Street and 24th Street
to be constructed by the Department
of Public Works of the State of
California.
lSth Street ...... Baker Street to Kern Street.
Monterey Street .... Beginning at a point 162 feet east
of the intersection of the center-
lines of Niles Street and Stockton
Street and ending at a point on
Niles Street one hundred seventy-
six feet east of the intersection
of the center-lines of Niles Street
and Brown Street via a connection
between Monterey Street and Niles
Street to be constructed by the
Department of Public Works of the
State of California.
24th Street ...... Beginning at a point at the inter-
section of the center-lines of 24th
Street and "Q" Street and ending at
a point sixty-seven feet east of the
intersection of the center-lines of
24th Street and "B" Street.
SECTION 2.
This ordinance shall become effective thirty days from
and after the date of its passage.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was
passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a
regular meeting thereof held on the 4th day of ,~a¥ ,
