AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE SEVENTEEN OF THE
MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD BY
CHANGING THE LAND USE ZONING OF THAT CERTAIN
PROPERTY IN THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD LOCATED
ON THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF UNION AVENUE AND
WEST COLUMBUS STREET.
WHEREAS, in accordance with the procedure set forth in
the provisions of Title 17 of the Municipal Code of the City of
Bakersfield, the Planning Commission and City Council have held
hearings respectively, on a petition to change the land use zoning
of that certain property in the City of Bakersfield located on the
northwest corner of Union Avenue and West Columbus Street; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined after due
consideration of said petition and the recommendations of the Planning
Commission herein on file, together with the reasons advanced at
the hearings for a change of zoning of said property, that a zoning
change should be authorized.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City
of Bakersfield as follows:
That Section 17.12.020 (Zoning Map) of the Municipal Code
of the City of Bakersfield, be and the same is hereby amended by
changing the land use zoning of that certain property in said City,
the boundaries of which property are shown on the map hereto attached
and made a part hereof, as follows:
Changing the zoning boundaries from an R-1 (Single
Family Dwelling) Zone to an R-3-D (Limited Multiple
Family Dwelling-Architectural Design), or more
restrictive, Zone, of that certain property in the
City of Bakersfield located on the northwest corner
of Union Avenue and West Columbus Street, being more
particularly described as follows:
Portion of the SF-,k' Of the SEk of Section 18 and the
NEk of the NEk of Section 19, T30S, R28E, M.D.B.M.,
being more particularly described as follows:
Parcel ~1: Co~.~encing oat the SE corner of said
S~ction 18; thence N 89 45' 00" W along the south
line of the SE% of said Section 18, a distance of
1033.10. feet to the true point of beginning; and
hereinafter known as Point A;
Thence N 12° 12' 00" W, 409.00 feet;
Thence N 07° 32' 00" W, 343.90 feet;
Thence N.06° 22' 00" E, 230.60 feet;
Thence N 20° 49' 00" E, 219.60 feet;
Thence N 39° 13' 00" E, 189.40 feet to a point in
the north line of the SEt of the SF~ of said Section 18;
Thence S 89° 45'00" E, along last named line, 219.01
feet;
Thence S 25° 39' 19" E, 344.84 feet;
Thence S 08° 39' 19" E, 410.43 feet;
Thence S 25° 39' 19" E, 230.00 feet;
Thence S 56° 39' 19" E, 232.99 feet;
Thence S 25° 39' 19" E, 270.00 feet;
Thence S 35° 45' 07" E to a point in the south line
of the SE~ of said Section 18;
Thence N 89° 45' 00" W, along last named line to the
True Point of Beginning;
Parcel ~2: oBeginning at the aforesaid Point A;
thence S 33 E to the north right-of-way line of
the proposed Col~_,mbus Street extension;
Thence easterly and northerly along said north right-
of-way to a point on the north line of said Section 19;
Thence N 89° 45' 00" W along last named line to the
True Point of Beginning.
Excepting Therefrom street rig~-of-way. Contains
18 acres, more or less.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was
passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a
regular meeting thereof held on the 20th day of July, 1970, by
the following vote:
