AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD
AMENDING CHAPTER 2.08 OF THE MUNICIPAL
CODE BY AMENDING SECTION 2.08.060 (h)
(1) PROVIDING FOR CONSENT CALENDAR AND
ADDING SECTION 2.08.062 CONSENT CALENDAR.
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of
Bakersfield as follows:
SECTION 1.
Section 2.08. 060 Municipal Code is amended to read as
follows:
2.08.060 Order of Business. At the time set for regular
meeting of the City Council, the members of the legislative body
and the administrative staff shall take their regular stations in
the Council Chambegs, and the business of the Council shall be taken
up for consideration and disposition in the following order, unless
otherwise changed by the Council:
(a) Pledge
(b) Invocation
Roll call
Scheduled public statements
(e) Correspondence
(f) Council statements
(g) Reports
(h) Council action
(1) Consent calendar
(2) Bid openings and/or action
(3) Deferred business
(4) New business
(i) Hearings
(j) Adjournment
SECTION 2.
Section 2.08.062 is added to Municipal Code to read as
follows:
2.08.062 Consent Ca, lendar. The consent calendar is comprised
of one or more items of routine nature which may be approved at
one time by affirmative roll call vote. Any councilman may remove
any item or items from the consent calendar to be voted upon
separately from all other items on said consent calendar.
SECTION 3.
This ordinance shall become effective thirty (30) days
from and after the date of its passage.
