AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE SEVENTEEN
OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD BY CHANGING THE LAND USE
ZONING OF THAT CERTAIN PROPERTY IN THE
CITY OF BAKERSFIELD LOCATED ON THE WEST
SIDE OF HUGHES LANE IN THE 3700 AND 3800
BLOCKS.
WHEREAS, in accordance with the procedure set forth in
the provisions of Title 17 of the Municipal Code of the City of
Bakersfield, the Planning Con~nission and City Council have held
hearings respectively, on a petition to change the land use zoning
of that certain property in the City of Bakersfield located on the
west side of Hughes Lane in the 3700 and 3800 blocks; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined after due
consideration of said 'petition and the recoLmL,endations of the Planning
Commission herein on file, together with the reasons advanced at
the hearings for a change of zoning of said 'property, that a zoning
change should be authorized.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City
of Bakersfield as follows:
That Section 17.12.020 (Zoning Map.) of the Municipal Cod~
of the City of Bakersfield, be and the same is hereby amended by
changing the land use zoning of certain-property in said City,
the boundaries of which property are shown on the map hereto
attached and made a part hereof, as follows:
Changing the zoning boundaries from an R-1
(Single Family Dwelling) Zone to an R-3-D
(Limited Multiple Family Dwelling - Archi-
tectural Design), or more restrictive, Zone
of that certain property in the City of
Bakersfield located on the west side of
Hughes Lane, in the 3700 and 3800 blocks,
being more particularly described as follows:
That portion of Lot 12 of Lands of J. B.
Haggin, recorded May 3, 1889, that lies
northerly of the easterly prolongation of
the south line of Lot 13 of Tract No.
2263, recorded April 7, 1960, in the Kern
County Recorder's Office, that lies east-
erly of the centerline of Kern Island Canal,
Branch #1.
EXCEPTING the R/W for Hughes Lane.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was
· passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a
regular meeting thereof held on the 17th day of August, 1970, by
the following vote:
