AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD AMENDING TITLE SEVENTEEN OF THE
MUNICIPAL CODE TO PROVIDE FOR A HOSP. (HOSPITAL)
ZONE.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield
as follows:
SECTION 1.
That Chapter 17.43 is added to the Municipal Code of the
City of Bakersfield to read as follows:
Chapter 17.43
Hosp. Zone
Sections:
17.43.010 Hosp. (Hospital) Zone.
17.43.020 Uses Permitted.
17.43.030 Approval of Plans.
17.43.010 H_osp. (Hospital) Zone. Land classified in R-i, R-2,
and R-3 zones may also be classified as a "Hosp." Zone and the
following restrictions shall apply in the "Hosp." (Hospital) Zone
unless otherwise provided in this title.
17.43.020 Uses Permitted. (a) Any use permitted in the R-i,
R-2, and R-3 zones in which the land is classified and when so used
subject to all of the provisions contained in the sections defining
the zone.
(b) Hospitals, sanitariums, rest homes, convalescent homes,
maternity homes, and homes for the aged, except animal hospitals,
clinics, hospitals or sanitariums for mental, drug or liquor addict
cases.
(c) Yard requirements shall be the same as the other zone in
which the land is classified.
(d) Parking requirements shall be as set forth in Section
17.56. 020 of this title.
17.43.030 Approval of Plans. Approval of site development and
building plans in accordance with the procedures and standards as
set forth in Chapter 17.44 "D" (Architectural Design) Zone.
SECTION 2.
This ordinance shall become effective thirty (30) days
from and after the date of its passage.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was
passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a
regular meeting thereof held on the 22nd day of February, 1971,
by the following vote:
