AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 17.12.020 OF
CHAPTER 17.12 (ZONING MAP) OF THE MUNICIPAL
{:ODE OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD.
WHEREAS, in accordance with the procedure set forth in
the provisions of Title 17 of the Municipal Code of the City of
Bakersfield, the Planning Commission and City Council have held
hearings respectively, on a motion of the Planning Commission to
zone certain property now being annexed to said City, and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined after due con-
sideration of the motion and the reco~Lm~endation of the Planning
Commission, herein on file, together with the reasons advanced at
the hearing for the zoning of said property, that said zoning
should be authorized upon annexation of said property to the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the
City of Bakersfield, as follows:
SECTION 1.
That Section 17.12.020 of Chapter 17.12 (Zoning Map) of
the Municipal Code of the City of Bakersfield, be and the same is
hereby amended by extending the boundaries of said map to include
those certain properties in the County of Kern bounded on the
north by Jefferson Street, on the easterly side by Owens Street
and on the West by the existing city boundary, known as Beale No. 2
Annexation, to an R-3 (Limited Multiple Family Dwelling), or more
restrictive, zone; and to a C-1-D (Limited Commercial-Architectural
Design), or more restrictive, zone, upon the annexation of said
property to the City of Bakersfield, the boundaries of which
property are shown on the map hereto attached and made a part of
this ordinance, and are more specifically described as follows:
The following described parcels are situated in
the County of Kern, State of California, and
being portions of the SW~ of Section 21, T29S,
R28E, M.D.B.M., and also being within Drury's
Addition to Kern, as per map filed April 27,
1893, in Book 1 of Maps on Page 41, in the
Office of the County Recorder of said Kern
County.
To an R-3 (Limited Multiple Family Dwelling),
or more restrictive~ Zone:
Parcel #1: The northerly ~ of Block 33 of
said Drury's Addition, EXCEPTING the right-of-
way for State Freeway Route 178.
Parcel #2: The northerly ½ of Block 13 of
said Drury's Addition, EXCEPTING the right-of-
way for State Freeway Route 178.
Parcel #3: All of the SW corner of the inter-
section of Flower Street and Owens Street which
lies; within said Drury's Addition.
To a C-1-D (Limited Commercial-Architectural
Design~ or more restrictive~ Zone:
The southerly ~ of Block 13 of said Drury's
Addition.
SECTION 2.
This ordinance shall become effective upon the annexation
of the above-described territory to the City of Bakersfield.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 15th day of March, 1971, by the follow-
ing vote:
