AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE SEVENTEEN OF THE
MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD BY
CHANGING THE LAND USE ZONING OF THAT CERTAIN
PROPERTY IN THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD LOCATED
AT THE NORTHEAST CORNER OF CHRISTMAS TREE
LANE AND COLUMBUS STREET.
WHEREAS,~in accordance with the procedure set forth in
the provisions of Title 17 of the Municipal Code of the City'of
Bakersfield, the Planning Commission and City Council have held
hearings respectively, on a petition to change the land use zoning
of that certain property in the City of Bakersfield located at the
northeast corner of Christmas Tree Lane and Columbus Street; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined after due
consideration of said petition and the recommendations of the Planning
Commission herein on file, together with the reasons advanced at
the hearings for a change of zoning of said property, that a zoning
change should be authorized.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City
of Bakersfield as follows:
That Section 17.12.020 (Zoning Map) of the Municipal Code
of the City of Bakersfield, be and the same is hereby amended by
changing the land use zoning of certain property in said City,
the boundaries of which property are shown on the map hereto
attached and made a part hereof, as follows:
Changing the zoning boundaries from an R-1
(Single Family Dwelling) Zone to an R-3-D
(Limited Multiple Family Dwelling - Architectural
Design), or more restrictive, Zone, of that cer-
tain property in the City of Bakersfield located
at the northeast corner of Christmas Tree Lane
and Columbus Street, being more particularly
described as follows:
Ail that portion of the NW~ of Section 14, T29S,
R28E, M.D.B.M., in the City of Bakersfield,
County of Kern, State of California, described
as follows:
Commencing at the northeast corner of Tract
No. 2598, as per map recorded in Book 12,
Page 111 of Maps, Official Records of said
County, said northeast corner being the center-
line intersection of Columbus ~treet and Christ-
mas Tree Lane; thence north 29v31'53'' east
along the northerly prolongation of the centerline
of said Columbus Street, 317.563 feet to the north
line of the SW~ of the NW~ of said Section and
the True Point of Beginning; thence continuing
north 29031'53'' east, 244.322 feet; thence
so~th 60°28'07'' east, 266.590 feet; thence south
29-31'53" west, 90.251 feet to said north line;
thence along said north line south 89°30'23''
west, 307.909 feet to the True Point of Beginning.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 24th day of May, 1971, by the following
vote:
