AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD AMENDING SECTION
3.18.060 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE BY ADDING
THE POSITIONS OF FIRE ALARM OPERATORS.
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the reestablishment
of the positions of fire alarm operators is necessary for t'he pre-
servation and protection of the public, health, and safety of t~he
public by virtue of aiding the efficiency of the Fire Department
in responding to fires throughout t'he City.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield
t~hat Section 3.18.060 of the Municipal Code is hereby amended as
follows:
SECTION 1.
That Section 3.18.060 of the Municipal Code is hereby
amended by adding to the Clerical/Communications Group the following
classifications:
Class Number Overtime Compensation Class Title Salary Range
(A) Fire Alarm Operator 22
Supervisor
(A) Fire Alarm Operator 20
SECTION 2.
This ordinance is an emergency ordinance pursuant to
Section 24 of the City Charter and is to become effective immediately
upon its adoption.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Emergency Ordinance
was passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield
at a regular meeting thereof held on t'he 24th day of May, 1971, by
