AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 17.12.020 OF
CHAPTER 17.12 (ZONING MAP) OF THE MUNICIPAL
CODE OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD.
WHEREAS, in accordance with the procedure set forth in
the provisions of Title 17 of the Municipal Code of the City of
Bakersfield, the Planning Commission and City Council have held
hearings respectively, on a motion of the Planning Commission to
zone certain property now being annexed to said City, and
W~REAS, the City Council has determined after due con-
sideration of the motion and the recommendation of the Planning
Commission, herein on file, together with the reasons advanced at
the hearing for the zoning of said property, that said zoning
should be authorized upon annexation of said property to the City.
.NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the
City of Bakersfield as follows:
SECTION 1.
That Section 17.12.020 of Chapter 17.12 (Zoning Map) of
the Municipal Code of the City of Bakersfield, be and the same is
hereby amended by extending the boundaries of said map to include
that certain property designated as Parcel "C" of the Stockdale
No. 4 Annexation which is located on the north side of Stockdale
Highway across from Stockdale Estates and between the existing
incorporated area of the City on the west side and on the east side
by St. Philip's School, to an R-i-Ch (Single Family Dwelling - Church),
or more restrictive, Zone, upon the annexation of said property to
the City of Bakersfield, the boundaries of which property are shown
on the map attached hereto and made a part of this ordinance, being
more particularly described as follows:
A parcel of land situate in the County of Kern,
State of California, and being a portion of
Section 33, T29S, R27E, MDBM., more particularly
described as follows:
Commencing at the southeast corner of said
Section 33:
Thence (1) N 89°43'00'' W, along the south line
of i~aid Section 33, 2077.51 feet, more or less,
to intersect the southerly extension of the west
line of that certain parcel of land described in
deed recorded in Book 4121, at Page 280, Official
Records of said Kern County, being the True Point
of Beginning for this description;
Thence (2) continuing westerly along said south
line of Section 33, a distance of 838.47 feet, more
or less,~ito the northwest corner of Tract No. 2548,
recorded in Book 12 of Maps, on Page 56 in said
Kern County, said point also being a point on the
corporate boundary of the City of Bakersfield as
defined by the Ordinance No. 1778, N.S.;
Thence (3) northerly along the last named corporate
boundary, 603.41 feet, more or less, to intersect the
westerly prolongation of the north line of said
certain parcel of land as described in a deed recorded
in Book 4121, at Page 280, Official Records of said
Kel~ County;
Thence (4) S 89°43'00" E along the last named
westerly prolongation, 838.47 feet, more or less,
to the northwest corner of the last named parcel
of land;
Thence (5) S 0~17'00'' W, along the east line of the
last named parcel of land, 603.41 feet, more or less,
to the True Point of Beginning, containing 12 acres,
more or less.
EXCEPTING THEREFROM the right of way for Stockdale
Highway.
SECTION 2.
This ordinance shall become effective upon the annexation
of the above-described territory to the City~'Of Bakersfield.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was
passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield
at a regular 'meeting thereof held on the 17th day of May, 1971,
by the following vote:
