AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE SEVENTEEN OF THE
MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD BY
CHANGING THE LAND USE ZONING OF THAT CERTAIN
PROPERTY IN THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD LOCATED
ON THE EASTERLY SIDE OF ALTA VISTA DRIVE
BETWEEN FREEWAY 178 AND MONTEREY STREET ON
THE SOUTH.
WHEREAS, in accordance with the procedure set forth in
the provisions of Title 17 of the Municipal Code of the City of
Bakersfield, the Planning Commission and City Council have held
hearings respectively, on a motion of the Planning Commission to
change the land use zoning of that certain property in the City of
Bakersfield located on the easterly side of Alta Vista Drive
between Freeway 178 and Monterey Street on the south, and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined after due
consideration of said motion and the recommendations of the Planning
CoLm~Lission herein on file, together with the reasons advanced at
the hearings for a change of zoning of said property, that a zoning
change should be authorized.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the
City of Bakersfield as follows:
That Section 17.12.020 (Zoning Map) of the Municipal Code
of the City of Bakersfield, be and the same is hereby amended by
changing the land use zoning of certain property in said City, the
boundaries of which properties are shown on the map hereto attached
and made a part hereof, as follows:
Changing the zoning boundaries from a C-2-D
(Commercial - Architectural Design) Zone to
an R-3 (Limited Multiple Family Dwelling)
Zone, or more restrictive, of that certain
property in the City of Bakersfield that lies
on the easterly side of Alta Vista Drive
between the Freeway 178 and Monterey Street
on the south, being more particularly described
as follows:
All those fractional lots 9 through 16 in Block
21 of Alta Vista Tract recorded on January 29,
1923, in the Office of the County Recorder, and
all those fractional lots 9 through 16 and whole
lots 17 through 22 in Block 21 of Kern, filed on
April 10, 1893, in the Office of the County
Recorder.
EXCEPTING THEREFROM the right-of-way for streets
and alleys.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 21st day of June, 1971, by the following
vote:
