AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF BAKERSFIELD AMENDING SECTION 11.04.430
OF CHAPTER 11.04, BAKERSFIELD MUNICIPAL
(]ODE, INCREASING THE LENGTH OF ANGLE
PARKING STALLS.
W~H~REAS, the present ordinance prohibits automobiles
longer than i[8 feet from parking in designated parking spaces, and
WHJ~REAS, the Police Department for the City of
Bakersfield has found and determined that modern automobiles
have increased in length over the years, and, therefore, should
be allowed to park in designated parking spaces.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the
City of Bakersfield as follows:
SECTION 1.
That Section 11.04.430 of the Municipal Code is amended
to read as follows:
11.04.430 Angle Parking - Length of Vehicle. It is unlawful
to park, or permit to be parked, on streets where angle parking
is designated, any vehicle or combination of vehicles, which would
substantially block the free use of any roadway or driving aisle
of any parking mall, or in any event whose overall length exceeds
22 feet.
SECTION 2.
This ordinance shall become effective thirty (30) days
from and after the date of its passage.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting theceof held on the 21st day of June, 1971, by the follow-
ing vote:
