AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE SEVENTEEN OF THE
MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD BY
CHANGING THE LAND USE ZONING OF THAT CERTAIN
PROPERTY IN THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD LOCATED
ON THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF PLANZ ROAD AND
SOUTH CHESTER AVENUE.
WHEREAS, in accordance with the procedure set forth in
the provisions of Title 17 of the Municipal Code of the City of
Bakersfield, the Planning Commission and City Council have held
hearings respectively, on a motion of the Planning Commission to
change the land use zoning of that certain property in the City of
Bakersfield located on the southwest corner of Planz Road and
South Chester Avenue, and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined after due
consideration of said motion and the recommendations of the Planning
Commission herein on file, together with the reasons advanced at
the hearings for a change of zoning of said property, that a zoning
change should be authorized.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the
City of Bakersfield as follows:
That Section 17.12.020 (Zoning Map) of the Municipal Code
of the City of Bakersfield, be and the same is hereby amended by
changing the land use zoning of certain property in said City, the
boundaries of which properties are shown on the map hereto
attached and made a part hereof, as follows:
Changing the zoning boundaries from an R-2-MH-D
(Two Family Dwelling - Mobile Home Park -
Architectural Design) Zone to an R-2-D (Two
Family Dwelling-Architectural Design), or more
restrictive, Zone affecting that certain property
in the City of Bakersfield located on the southwest
corner of Planz Road and South Chester Avenue,
being more particularly described as follows:
That portion of the E½ of Lot 3 lying west of
the centerline of Chester Avenue as said avenue
is described in a deed to the County of Kern
recorded May 17, 1939, in Book 836, Page 375
of Official Records, in Section 18, T30S, R28E,
M.D.M., in the County of Kern, State of California,
as shown on the Kern County Sales Map No. 1 of
the. lands of J. B. Haggin filed May 3, 1889, in
the Office of the County Recorder of said Kern
County.
EXCEPT THEREFROM the following: Beginning at
the. northwest corner of the E½ of said Lot 3,
Thence N 89°54'50'' E along the north line of
said lot, a distance of 113.062 feet to an
intersection with the centerline of Chester
Avenue above described; thence S 28°22'00~'E
along said centerline 525.903 feet; thence S
617-38'00'~ 55 feet to the beginning of a curve
concave to the southwest having a radius of 25
feet through a central angle of 90°00'00"; thence
along said curve an arc distance of 39.270 feet
to a line tangent; thence S 61°38'00'~ along
said line 7.195 feet to the beginning of a curve
concave southeasterly having a radius of 200 feet
and a central angle of 26°59'22"; thence south-
westerly along said curve an arc distance of
80.179 feet; thence leaving said curve in a
direct line southwesterly to a point in a line
having a bearing of N 35u15'28'~; thence N 35°
15'28'~ along said line 285.393 feet; thence S
89°59'30'~, 30 feet to a point in the west line
of the east half of said Lot 3; thence N 0o00'30''
W along said west line 354.72 feet to the Point
of Beginning, City of Bakersfield, County of
Kern, State of California.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 7th day of June, 1971, by the following
vote:
