AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 17.12.020
OF CHAPTER 17.12 (ZONING MAP) OF THE
MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD.
WHEREAS, in accordance with the procedure set forth in
the provisions of Title 17 of the Municipal Code of the City of
Bakersfield, the Planning Commission and City Council have held
hearings respectively, on a motion to zone certain property now
being annexed to said City, and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined after due con-
sideration of the motion and recommendation of the Planning
Commission, herein on file, together with the reasons advanced at the
hearing for the zoning of said property, that said zoning should be
authorized ulpon annexation of said property to the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the
City of Bakersfield, as follows:
SECTION 1.
That Section 17.12. 020 of Chapter 17.12 (Zoning Map) of
the Municipal Code of the City of Bakersfield, be and the same is
hereby amended by extending the boundaries of said map to include
those certain properties in the County of Kern located between Casa
Loma Park on the north, White Lane on the south side and from
Madison Street on the east side to the westerly boundary which
consists of South Union Avenue north of Planz Road and South
Chester Avenue south of Planz Road, known as AIR PARK #1 ANNEXATION,
being more particularly described as follows:
The following-described parcels are located
within the Kern County Sales Map #1 of Lands
of J. B. Haggin, Sections 8, 17 and 18 of
T30S, R28E, M.D.B.M., filed May 3, 1889,
County of Kern, State of California.
TO AN R-1 (SINGLE FAMILY DWELLING)~ OR MORE
RESTRICTIVE~ ZONE:
Parcel f~l: Ail of Lots 11 and 12 and the
S~ of Lots 5 and 6 in said Section 8 of said
Sales Map f~l.
Parcel ~2: The E½ of Lot 3 in said Section
17 of said Sales Map f~l.
Parcel ~3: The west 301.16 feet of Lot 1
in said Section 18 of said Sales Map f~l.
EXCiEPTING the right-of-way within Planz
Road.
TO AN "A" (AGRICULTURAL)~ OR MORE RESTRICTIVE ZONE:
Ail of Lots 6 and 7 of said Section 17 of said
Sales Map ~1. EXCEPTING the west 700 feet as
measured from the centerline of South Union
Avenue.
TO A C-2-D (COMMERCIAL - ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN)~ OR
MORE RESTRICTIVE ~ ZONE:
Parcel f~l: Ail of Lots 6 and 7 of said Section
17 of said Sales Map ~1. EXCEPTING that portion
that lies easterly of a line that lies 700 feet
easterly of the centerline of South Union Avenue·
Parcel ~2: Ail of Lots 1, 2, 9 and 10 in said
Section 18 of said Sales Map ~1. EXCEPTING the
west 301·16 feet of Lot 1; along with that portion
that lies southwesterly of the northeasterly right-
of-way line of South Chester Avenue within said
Lots 9 and 10; together with the right-of-way
within South Chester Avenue and South Union Avenue·
TO AN M-1-D (LIGHT MANUFACTURING - ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN),
OR MORE RESTRICTIVE~ ZONE:
Ail of Lots 8, 9, 10, 20, 21, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27,
and 28 in said Section 8 along with all of Lots
4 and 5 and the west half of Lot 3 in said Section
17, all within said Sales Map ~1.
SECTION 2.
This ordinance shall become effective upon the annexation
of the above-described territory to the City of Bakersfield.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 23rd day of August, 1971, by the follow-
ing vote:
