HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD NO 1952 ORDINANCE NO. 1952 NEW SERIES AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD AMENDING CHAPTER 11.04 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE BY ADDING SECTION 11.04.739, TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS ON SERVICE ROADS ADJACENT TO SOUTH CHESTER AVENUE. WHEREAS, the City of Bakersfield will install a traffic signal at Belle Terrace and South Chester Avenue; and WHEREAS, the installation of the traffic signal will substantially alter the present traffic pattern and will create an extreme hazard for traffic on the service roads adjacent to South Chester Avenue between the cross streets of Terrace Way and Casa Loma Drive. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield as follows: SECTION 1. That Section 11.04.739 of the Municipal Code is added to read as follows: 11.04.739 Traffic restrictions on service roads adjacent to South Chester Avenue. (a) Traffic using the service road on the east side of South Chester Avenue between the cross streets of Terrace Way and Casa' Loma Drive shall be restricted to one-way travel northbound only. (b) Traffic using the service road on the west side of South Chester Avenue between the cross streets of Terrace Way and Casa Loma Drive shall be restricted to one-way travel southbound only. (c) There shall be posted at the intersection of Belle Terrace and South Chester Avenue a sign prohibiting traffic from making a right turn from South Chester Avenue to Belie'Terrace. (d) There shall be posted at the intersection of La France and South Chester Avenue a sign prohibiting traffic from making a right turn from South Chester Avenue to La France Drive. SECTION 2.
