AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD AMENDING THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF
THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD BY AMENDING SECTIONS
11.04.783 (SPEED LIMIT ON NILES STREET) AND
11.04.784 (SPEED LIMIT ON MONTEREY STREET).
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield
as follows:
SECTION 1.
That Section 11.04.783 of the Municipal Code of the City
of Bakersfield be amended to read as follows:
11.04.783 Speed Limit on Niles Street. A prima facie speed
limit of thirty-five miles per hour is hereby determined and
declared to 'be the prima facie speed limit at which vehicles
may travel on Niles Street from Union Avenue to the easterly city
limits, and a prima facie speed limit of thirty-five miles per hour
is hereby determined and declared to be the prima facie speed limit
at which vehicles may travel on West Niles Street from Union Avenue
to the junction with Espee Street.
SECTION 2.
That Section 11.04.784 of the Municipal Code of the City
of Bakersfield be amended to read as follows:
11.04.784 Speed Limit on Monterey Street. A prima facie speed
limit of thirty-five miles per hour is hereby determined and
declared to be the prima facie speed limit at which vehicles may
travel on Monterey Street from Union Avenue to Brown Street,
including the link back to Niles Street, and a prima facie speed
limit of thirty-five miles per hour is hereby determined and
declared to be the prima ~facie speed limit at which vehicles may
travel on West Monterey Street from Union Avenue to the junction
of Espee Street.
SECTION 3.
This ordinance shall become effective thirty days from
and after the date of its passage.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 4th day of October, 1971, by the
following vote:
