AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF BAKERSFIELD AMENDING SECTION 3.18.095
OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE ON INCENTIVE PAY.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield
as follows:
SECTION 1.
That Section 3.18.095 of the Municipal Code of the City
of Bakersfield is hereby amended to read as follows:
3.18.095 Incentive Pay. An additional five per cent (5%) in
salary shall be granted to all police safety employees possessing
either an Intermediate or Advanced Certificate or both, issued by
the Police Officers Standards and Training Commission (P.O.S.T.).
A five per cent (5%) pay increase for safety personnel
holding an Associate of Arts Degree in Fire Science and five (5)
years employment with the Bakersfield Fire Department or two and
one-half per cent (2½%) pay increase for those safety personnel in
the Bakersfield Fire Department who have obtained a Fire Science
or Fire Management Certificate requiring 21 units and eight (8)
years employment with the department.
SECTION 2.
This ordinance to become effective 30 days from the
date of its passage and to become operative'on or after July 1,
1972, upon the effective date.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting~thereof held on the 26th day of June, 1972, by the following
