AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF BAKERSFIELD AMENDING THE BAKERSFIELD
MUNICIPAL CODE BY AMENDING SECTION
8.48.160(a) OF CHAPTER 8.48 (REFUSE
COLLECTION AND CONTROL AND CHARGE THEREFOR).
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of'Bakersfield
as follows:
SECTION 1.
That Section 8.48.160(a) of Chapter 8.48 is hereby amended
to read as follows:
8.48.160(a) The Director of Public Works shall supervise the
collection and removal of all refuse by the City and shall enforce
the provisions of this Chapter. He shall have the right with the
verbal or written consent of the property owner or renter or their
bonafide agent to inspect any and all premises for the purpose of
determining whether the provisions of this chapter are being
observed. Without the aforementioned consent, a search warrant
must be obtained if he believes it is in the best interest of the
City to pursue a determination.
Any person denying or obstructing such inspection, pro-
vided a search warrant has been obtained, shall be subject to the
penalties herein provided.
SECTION 2.
This ordinance shall become effective 30 days from and
after the date of its passage.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 26th day of June, 1972, by the follow-
ing vote:
