A'N ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD AMENDING CHAPTER 5.38 OF THE
MUNICIPAL CODE PROVIDING THAT THE BENEFITS
OiF THE FIREMEN ' S PENSION SYSTEM ARE NOT
SUBJECT TO EXECUTION, GARNISHMENT OR
ATTACHMENT.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield
as follows:
SECTION 1.
That Chapter 5.38 of the Municipal Code is amended by
adding Section 5.38. 185 to read as follows:
5.38.185 Benefits--Exemption From Process. The right of a
person to any benefit or other right under this Chapter and the
money in the Pension Fund is not subject to execution, garnishment,
~attachment, or any process whatsoever.
SECTION 2.
This ordinance shall become effective thirty days from
and after the date of its passage.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 4th day of December , 1972,
by the following vote:
