AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 17.12.020 OF
CHAPTER 17.12 (ZONING MAP) OF THE MUNICIPAL
CODE OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD.
WHEREAS, in accordance with the procedure set forth in
the provisions of Title 17 of the Municipal Code of the City of
Bakersfield, the Planning Commission and City Council have held
hearings respectively, on a motion to zone certain property now
being annexed to said City, and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined after due con-
sideration of the motion and recommendation of the Planning Commis-
sion, herein on file, together with the reasons advanced at the
hearing for t'he zoning of said property, that said zoning should
be authorized upon annexation of said property to the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the
City of Bakersfield, as follows:
SECTION 1.
That Section 17.12.020 of Chapter 17.12.(Zoning Map) of
the Municipal Code of the City of Bakersfield, be and the same is
hereby amended by extending the boundaries of said map to include
those certain properties in the County of Kern located west of
Freeway 99, south of Rosedale Highway, north of Easton Drive,
containing 241.23 acres, known as Kern River No. 1 Annexation,
in an '~" (Agricultural) Zone; in a C-2-D (Commercial - Architectural
Design) Zone; and in an M-1-D (Light Manufacturing - Architectural
Design) Zone, upon the annexation of said property to the City of
Bakersfield, the boundaries of which property are shown on the map
hereto attached and made a part of this ordinance, and are more
specifically described as follows:
To an '~" (Agricultural) Zone:
A parcel of land situated in the County of Kern,
State of California, and being a portion of Section
26, T29S, R27E, M.D.B.& M., and more particularly
described as follows:
Beginning at a point where the westerly R/W line
of U.S. 99 Freeway intersects the centerline of the
Stine Canal Extension, said point being located
approximately 600 feet north of the Atchison Topeka
and Santa Fe Railroad Tracks: Thence southwesterly
along the last named canal centerline to the Corporate
Boundary of the City of Bakersfield as defined by
Ordinance No. 1748 N. S.;
Thence westerly and southwesterly along the last
named corporate boundary to the south line of said
Section 26;
Thence westerly along the last named south line
to the west line of said Section 26, also being
the southwest corner of said section;
Thence northerly along the last named west line to
a point on the northerly R/W line of the Atchison,
Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad Tracks;
Thence southeasterly along the last named northerly
R/W line 219.75 feet + to a point on the south line
of the NW~ of the SW~--of said Section 26;
Thence easterly along the last named south line,
1142 feet + to the east line of the NW~ of the
SW~ of sai~ Section 26;
Thence northerly along the last named east line to
a point on the north line of the SW~ of said Section
26;
Thence easterly along the last named north line to
the east line of the W½ of the W½ of the SE~ of the
NW~ of Section 26;
Thence northerly along the last named east line
to the north line of the south 235.61 feet of the
NW~ of said Section 26;
Thence easterly along the last named north line to
the east line of the W~ of the SE~ of the NW~ of
said Section 26;
Thence northerly along the last named east line to
the south R/W line of Burr Road, being of 60 feet
in 'width;
Thence easterly along the last named south R/W line
to the west line of the NE~ of said Section 26;
Thence northerly along the last named west line to
the south line of the north 1426.2 feet of the NE~
of said Section 26;
Thence easterly along the last named south line
to the westerly R/W line of said U.S. 99 Freeway;
Thence southerly along the last named westerly
R/W line to the Point of Beginning.
To a C-2-D ~Commercial - Architectural Design) Zone:
A parcel of land situated in the County of Kern,
State of California, and being a portion of the
N½ of Section 26, T29S, R27E, M.D.B.& M., and
more particularly described as follows:
Starting at a point where the east line of the
W½ of the W~ of the SE~ of the NW~ of said Section
26 intersects the south line of the N-W~ of said
Section 26; Thence northerly along the last named
east line to the north line of the south 235.61
feet of the N-W~ of said Section 26, being the True
Point of Beginning;
Thence easterly along the last named north line to
the east line of the W½ of the SE~ of the NW~ of
said Section 26;
Thence northerly along the last named east line
to the south R/W line of Burr Road, being of 60
feet in width;
Thence easterly along the last named South R/W
iine to the west line of the NE~ of said Section
26;
Thence northerly along the last named west line to
the south line of the north 1426.2 feet of the NE~
of said Section 26;
Thence easterl~ along the last named south line to
the westerly R/W line of said U.S. 99 Freeway;
Thence northwesterly, westerly, and northerly along
tile last named westerly R/W line to a point on the
east line of the NW~ of said Section 26, being
48.88 feet south of the north line of said section,
said point also being on the south R/W line of
Rosedale Highway, being of 110 feet in width;
Thence westerly along last named south R/W line to
the west line of the east 466.7 feet of the NW~ of
said Section 26;
Thence southerly along the last named west line
924.06 feet + to the south line of the north 963.40
feet of the ~W~ of said Section 26;
Thence easterly 194.84 feet + along the last named
south line to the west line ~f the E~ of the E½
of the NW~ of said Section 26;
Thence southerly along the last named west line
718.6 feet + to the south R/W line of Burr Road,
being of 60--feet in width;
Thence westerly along the last named south R/W line
to the east line of the W~ of the W~ of the SE~
of the NW~ of said Section 26;
Thence southerly along the last named east line
to the True Point of Beginning.
EXCEPTING THEREFROM the R/W for Burr Road.
To an M-1-D (Light Manufacturing - Architectural Design) Zone:
A parcel of land situated in the County of Kern,
State of California, and being a portion of the S~
of Section 26, T29S, R27E, M.D.B.& M., and more
particularly described as follows:
Beginning at a point where the westerly R/W line of
U.S. 99 Freeway intersects the center line of Stine

Thence southwesterly along the last named canal

along the last named westerly R/W line to the Point
of Beginning.
SECTION 2.
This ordinance shall become effective upon the annexation
of the above-described territory to the City of Bakersfield.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 13th day of November, 1972, by the
following vote:
