AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE SEVENTEEN OF THE
MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD BY
CHANGING THE LAND USE ZONING OF THAT CERTAIN
PROPERTY IN THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD LOCATED
ON THE SOUTHEAST CORNER OF 21ST STREET AND OAK
STREET.
WHEREAS, in accordance with the procedure set forth in
the provisions of Title 17 of the Municipal Code of the City of
Bakersfield, the Planning Commission and City Council have held
hearings respectively, on a petition to change the land use zoning
of that certain property in the City of Bakersfield located on the
southeast co~er of 21st Street and'Oak Street; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined after due con-
sideration of said petition and the recommendations of the Planning
Commission herein on file, together with the reasons advanced at
the hearings for a change of zoning of said property, that a zoning
change should be authorized.
NOW~ THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City
of Bakersfield as follows:
That Section 17.12.020 (Zoning Map) of the Municipal Code
of the City of Bakersfield, be and the same is hereby amended by
changing the ].and use zoning of certain property in said City, the
boundaries of which property are shown on the map hereto attached
and made a part hereof, as follows:
Changing the zoning boundaries from an R-3-D
(Limited Multiple Family Dwelling - Architectural
Design) Zone to a C-O-D (Professional Office -
Architectural Design) Zone of that certain property
in the City of Bakersfield located on the southeast
corner of 21st Street and Oak Street, being more
particularly described as follows:
That: portion of Block 436 and of the Carrier Canal
right-of-way (formerly known as the Stine Extension
Canal Reservation), adjacent to said Block, together
with vacated streets and alleys therein, if any,
according to the Official Map of the City of
Bakersfield recorded November 25, 1898, in Map
Book 1, Pages 13 and 14, in the Office of the
County Recorder of said County, lying westerly
of the following described line:
Beginning at a point on the south line of 21st
Street, distant thereon South 89°12'00'' East,
180.283 feet from the east line of Oak Street,
as said point, is described in that certain Grant
Deed to E. C. Reid recorded September 10, 1969
in the Office of the County Recorder of Kern
County, California, in Book 4316 of Official
Records at page 33; thence South 29°44'00''
West, 372.842 feet to a point on the east line
of Oak Street, distant thereon South 00~49'00''
West, 326.305 feet from the south line of said
21st Street.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 4th day of June, 1973, by the following
vote:
AYES: Councilmen Rogers, Strong, Thomas, Whittemore,
Bleecker, Heisey, Medders.
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
ABSTAIN: None
