AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD AMENDING SECTION 3.18.095 OF
CHAPTER 3.18 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE, CONCERN-
ING COMPENSATION TO EMPLOYEES.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield
as follows:
SECTION 1.
That Section 3.18.095 of Chapter 3.18 of Title 3 of the
Municipal Code.of the City of Bakersfield is-hereby amended to read
as follows:
3.18.095 Incentive Pay. An additional five per cent (5%) in
salary shall be granted to all police safety employees possessing
either an Intermediate or Advanced Certificate or both, issued by
the Police Officers' Standards and Training Commission (P. O. S. T.).
A five per cent (5%) pay increase shall be granted to
fire safety personnel holding an Associate in Arts Degree which
fulfills all requirements of a Fire Science Certificate and five (5)
years employment with the Bakersfield Fire Department or two and
one-half per cent (2½%) pay increase for those safety personnel in
the Bakersfield Fire Department who have obtained a Fire Science
Certificate requiring thirty (30) units and eight (8) years employ-
ment or Fire Management Certificate requiring twenty-one (21) units
and eight (8) years employment with the department.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 24th day of September, 1973, by the
following vote:
