AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE SEVENTEEN OF THE
MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD BY
CHANGING THE LAND USE ZONING OF THAT CERTAIN
PROPERTY IN THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD COMMONLY
KNOWN AS 4201 UNIVERSITY AVENUE.
WHEREAS, in accordance with the-procedure set forth in
the provisions of Title 17 of the Municipal Code of the City of
Bakersfield, the Planning Commission and City Council have held
hearings respectively, on a petition to change the land use zoning
of that certain property in the City of Bakersfield coffee, only known
as 4201 University Avenue; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined after due con-
sideration of said petition and the recommendations of the Planning
Commission herein on file, together with the reasons advanced'at
the hearings for a change of zoning of said property, that a zoning
change should be authorized.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City
of Bakersfield as follows:
That Section 17.12.020 (Zoning Map) of the Municipal Code
of the City of Bakersfield, be and the same is hereby amended by
changing the land use zoning of certain property in said City, the
boundaries of which property are shown on the map hereto attached
and made a part hereof, as follows:
Changing the zoning boundaries from an R-1 (One
Family Dwelling) Zone to an R-l-CH (One Family
Dwelling - Church) Zone of that certain property
in the City of Bakersfield commonly known as 4201
University Avenue, being more particularly described
as follows:
That portion of the SW 1/4 of Section 14, T29S,
R28E, M.D.B.M., in the City of Bakersfield,
County of Kern, State of California, mo~e
particularly described as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the centerline
of University Avenue with the centerline of Covina
Street as shown on Tract Map No. 2538, recorded
May 125, 1961, in Book 11, Page 200 of Maps, in
the Office of the County Recorder of said County
of Kern, State of California;
Thence South 0°01'16~' East, along the centerline
of said Covina Street, 320.12 feet to the inter-
section of the centerline of Fulton Avenue shown
on said Tract 2538;
Thence North 89°58'36" East, along the Easterly
prolongation of the centerline of Fulton Avenue,
459.97 feet;
Thence North 0°01'16" West, parallel with the
centerline of said Covina Street, 325.07 feet
to the centerline of University Avenue as shown
on Tract No. 2615, recorded MarCh 22, 1962 in
Book 12, Page 157 of Maps, in the Office of the
County Recorder of said County;
Thence South 89°21'33'' West, along the centerline
of said University Avenue, 460.00 feet to the
Point of Beginning.
EXCEPTING the R/W for University Avenue and Covina
Street.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 26th day of November, 1973, by the
