AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE. CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD AUTHORIZING AMENDMENT TO THE
CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD
AND THE CALIFORNIA PUBLIC EMPLOYEES' RETIRE-
MENT SYSTEM CONCERNING THE EXCLUSION OF
"SCHOOL CROSSING GUARDS" AND "POLICE CADETS"
WHO ARE HIRED ON OR AFTER FEBRUARY 1, '1974,
AND DIRECTING MAYOR TO EXECUTE ON BEHALF OF
CITY.
BE 'IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield
as follows:
SECTION 1.
That a Contract between the City Council of the City of
Bakersfield and the Board of Administration, California Public
Employees' Retirement System is hereby authorized, a copy of said
Contract being attached hereto, marked "Exhibit A," and by such
reference made a part hereof as though herein set out in full.
SECTION 2.
That the Mayor of the City of Bakersfield is hereby
authorized, empowered, and directed to execute said Contract for
and on behalf of the City of Bakersfield.
SECTION 3.
This ordinance shall become effective thirty days from
and after the date of its passage.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing ordinance was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 25th day of March, 1974, by the following
vote:
