AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD ADDING SECTION 17.14.030 TO
CHAPTER 17.14 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE, PRO-
VIDING FOR THE R-S-2-1/2A ZONE WITHIN THE
CITY OF BAKERSFIELD.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield
as follows:
SECTION 1.
That Section 17.14.030 is hereby added to Chapter 17.14
of Title 17 of the Municipal Code of the City of Bakersfield, as
follows:
17.14.030 R-S-2-1/2A (Residential Suburban-Two and One-half
Acre Minimum Lot Size) Zone.
A. USES PERMITTED. All permitted uses and regulations in the
R-S-2-1/2A (Residential Suburban-two and one-half acre minimum lot
size) zone shall be the same as the R-1 and R-S Zones except that
the minimum lot size shall not be less than two and one-half (2-1/2)
acres.
B. USES PERMITTED SUBJECT TO PLANNING DIRECTOR REVIEWAND
APPROVAL. The following uses may be permitted subject to review
and approval by the Planning Director:
1. Nurseries and greenhouses, but not including any
salesrooms or other buildings used for the sales
of the products produced.
2. Public utility or public service building, struc-
tures and uses.
3. Public and private parks, playgrounds, golf courses
and accessory buildings or structures necessary to
: such~uses.
4. Temporary recreational uses.
5. Directional signs not to exceed six (6) square feet
in area.
C. USES PERMITTED SUBJECT TO CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT. The
following uses may be permitted subject to a conditional use permit
in accordance with the procedures provided for in Chapters 17.60
and 17.64 of this title:
1. Riding stables.
2. Permanent recreational facilities.
3. Sand and gravel removal from river.
SECTION 2.
This ordinance shall become effective thirty days from
and after the date of its adoption.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing ordinance was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 24th day of June, 1974, by the following
vote:
