AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 17.12.020 OF
CHAPTER 17.12 (ZONING MAP) OF THE MUNICIPAL
CODE OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD.
WHEREAS, in accordance with the procedure set forth in
the provisions of Title 17 of the Municipal Code of the City of
Bakersfield, the Planning Commission and City Council have held
hearings respectively, on motion to zone certain property now being
annexed to said City; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined after due con-
sideration of the motion and recommendation of the Planning Commis-
sion, herein on file, together with the reasons advanced at the
hearing for the zoning of said property, that said zoning should
be authorized upon annexation of said property to the City.
NOW:, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the
City of Bakersfield, as follows:
SECTION 1.
That Section 17.12.020 of Chapter 17.12 (Zoning Map) of
the Municipal Code of the City of Bakersfield, be and the same is
hereby amended by extending the boundaries of said map to include
those certain properties in the County of Kern located easterly of
Columbus Street, between the City landfill on the north and the
easterly extension of University Avenue, and known as a portion of
Panorama No. i Annexation, in an R-1 (One Family Dwelling) Zone
upon the annexation of said property to the City of Bakersfield,
the boundaries of wh%ch property are shown on the map hereto
attached and made a part of this ordinance, and are more specifi-
cally described as follows:
To an R-1 (One Family Dwelling) Zone:
A parcel of land situate in the County of Kern,
State of California, and being a portion of the
west half of Section 14, T29S, R28E, M.D.B.& M.
Beginning at the north one-quarter corner of said
Section 14, said quarter corner being in the Corporate
Boundary of the City of Bakersfield;
Thenc~ (1) departing from said Corporate Boundary,
southerly along the east line of the west one-half
of said Section 14 to intersect the south line of
the north 45 feet of the southwest one-quarter of
said Section;
Thence (2) westerly along last-named south line to
intersect the west line of the east one-half of the
west one-half of said Section 14, said last-named
west line being in the Corporate Boundary of the
City of Bakersfield;
Thence (3) northerly, and along the various courses
of said Corporate Boundary to the point of beginning.
EXCEPTING THEREFROM the following described parcel:
Commencing at the point of intersection of the center-
line of Columbus Street with the centerline of
Panorama Drive in the City of Bakersfield of said
County;
Thence South 68o18'03'' east along the easterly exten-
sion of the centerline of said Panorama Drive a
distance of 95.63 feet to a point at the beginning
of a tangent curve concave northerly and having a
radius of 1000 feet;
Thence easterly along said curve through a central
angle of 28°44'04'' an arc distance of 501.51 feet
to a point of reverse curve, concave southerly and
having a radius of 1000 feet;
Thence easterly along said curve through a central
angle of 09°10'27'' an arc distance of 160.12 feet
to the True Point of Beginning;
Thence (1) departing from said curve North 14027'08''
east, a distance of 39.71 feet;
Thence (2) south 71o40'47'' east, a distance of 940.15
feet to a point in the east line of the northwest
quarter of said Section 14;
Thence (3) south 00o02'09'' east along last-named
line a distance of 322.59 feet to a point in the
south line of the north half of the northwest
quarter of said Section 14;
Thence (4) westerly along last-named line a distance
of 1702.33 feet, more or less to a point 34.61 feet
easterly of the northwest corner of Tract No. 3110
in said City (per Map Book 16, Page 18, Official
Records);
Thence (5) north 29o31'53'' east a distance of 637.25
feet;
Thence (6) south 71o41'50'' east, a distance of 461.54
feet;
Thence (7) north 14°27'08'' East, a distance of
190.29 feet to the True Point of Beginning.
SECTION 2.
This ordinance shall become effective upon the annexation
of the above-described territory to the City of Bakersfield.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing ordinance was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 20th day of May, 1974, by the following
vote:

H. E.' BERGEN, being duly sworn, deposes and says:
That he is the duly appointed, acting and qualified City
Clerk of the City of Bakersfield; and that on May 21st,
19 74 , he posted on the Bulletin Board at the City Hall, a full,
true and correct copy of an ordinance passed by the Council of said
City at a meeting thereof duly held on May 20th , 19 74 ,
which ordinance was numbered 2192 New Series, and
entitled:
