HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD NO 1855 ORDINANCE NO. 1855 NEW SERIES AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD AMENDING SECTION 17.56. 100 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD PERTAINING TO AUTOMOBILE PARKING REQUIRE- MENTS. BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield as follows: SECTION 1. That Section 17.56.100 of the Municipal Code of the City of Bakersfield be amended to read as follows: 17.56.100 Collectively used space--Parking area on separate lot-- Exceptions to yard requirements--Paving and additional requirements. Nothing in this title shall prohibit the collective use of space for off-street parking, provided such collectively used space is equal to the sum of the requirements of each individual establish- ment participating in such collective use. When the required off-street parking space is provided on a separate lot from themainbuilding, there shall be recorded in the office of the County Recorder of Kern County, California, a covenant by the owner or owners of said lot for the benefit of the City of Bakersfield to the effect that such owner or owners will continue to maintain such parking space so long as said building is maintained. Neither the area of a required side yard abutting a street nor of a front yard shall be used for off-street parking required by this Chapter. Such provisions shall not apply in the "P" Zone. Ail off-street automobile parking areas including automobile sales lots, service stations and other drive-in estab- lishments shall be fully hard-surfaced with asphaltic concrete, or any other recognized street surfacing material, of minimum thickness of two inches. The conditions for fences, walls, hedges, planting, driveways, bumper guards, lighting, setback and drainage shall be as provided for in Section 17.40.020. SECTION 2.
