AN ORDINANCE ADDING ANNEXATION NO. 397 TO
WARD 4.
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Bakersfield adopted a resolution for
Annexation No. 397 on March 25, 1998, ordering the territory annexed to the City of
Bakersfield; and
WHEREAS, the territory ordered to be annexed to the City of Bakersfield
is required to be within a City Council Ward Boundary; and
WHEREAS, the Council recently completed annexation of the territory to
the City of Bakersfield, the exterior boundaries of which are described in Exhibit "A" and
as shown in Exhibit "B" for Annexation NO. 397 attached hereto and incorporated as
though fully set forth herein.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of
Bakersfield as follows:
Section 1.
All of the foregoing recitals are hereby found to be true and correct.
Section 2.
Annexation No. 397 shall be included in Ward 4.
Section 3.
This ordinance shall be posted in accordance with the Bakersfield
Municipal Code and shall become effective upon the annexation of the above-described
territory to the City of Bakersfield, but not less than thirty (30) days from and after the
date of its passage.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was passed and
adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular meeting thereof held on

ANNEXATION NO. 397
A portion of the southeast 1/4 of Section 30, Township 29 South, Range 27 East, M.D. M., County
of Kern, State of California, more particularly described as follows:
Commencing at the southeast comer of said Section 30, said corner being monumented and officially
designated as 681,968.316 feet North and 1,669,345.712 feet East per the California Coordinate
Systen~ Zone 5;
Thence North 00° 51' 07" East, along the east line of said section, a distance of 30.00 feet;
Thence North 89° 06' 37" West, 203.85 feet to a point on the north right of way line of Brimhall
Road (Co. Rd. No. 589) also being a point on the existing corporate boundary of the City of
Bakersfield and the TRUE POINT OF BEGINNING;
Thence (1) departing from said corporate boundary line, along the west right of way line of realigned
Calloway Drive, North 62° 32' 31" East, 34.89 feet to the beginning of a non-tangent, 1,430.00 foot
radius curve, concave northwesterly, having a radial bearing of South 67° 22' 42" East, from said
beginning of curve;
Thence (2) northeasterly along said right of way curve through a central angle of 07° 33' 49" an arc
distance of 188.77 feet to the beginning of a non-tangent, 1,600.00 foot radius curve, concave
northwesterly, having a radial beating of South 73° 28' 40" East from said beginning of curve;
Thence (3) northeasterly along said right of way curve through a central angle of 09° 19' 43" an arc
distance of 260.50 feet to intersect the south line of that parcel of land owned by Howard D and
Deborah L. Smith and designated by the Kern County Assessor as APN 110-170-29;
Thence (4) South 89° 07' 52" East, along said parcel line, 35.19 feet to intersect the west line of the
east 30 feet of said Section 30, also being the west right of way line of Calloway Drive (Co. Rd. No.
360), also being a point on the existing corporate boundary of the City of Bakersfield;
Thence (5) southerly and westerly along said corporate boundary line to the TRUE POINT OF
BEGINNING.
