A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING
TAXICAB SERVICE CHARGES
WHEREAS, Section 5.50.200 of the Bakersfield Municipal Code sets forth the procedure
for taxicab companies to request rate schedule increases, and for the City Council to review and
modify the rate schedule; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has considered changes proposed by Kern County Transit Co.,
Latino Cab Company, and American Cab in the City of Bakersfield; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that some change is necessary to provide for
taxicab services by these and other taxicab companies operating within the City of Bakersfield.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield that the
charges for taxicab service are hereby set as follows:
Initial Drop .........................................................................$ 2.00
Mileage .........................................................................$ 2.20
(Per mile traveled thereafter)
Waiting Time (per hour) ........................................................$15.00
More than 3 packages ............................................................$ 1.50
The above rates are all-inclusive rates and additional service charges shall not be
added thereto. The above rates shall take effect on November 16, 2000.
