AN ORDINANCE ADDING THE PIERCE ROAD NO. 2
ANNEXATION TO WARD 5.
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Bakersfield adopted a resolution on
December 17, 1997, for the Pierce Road No. 2 Annexation, ordering the territow
annexed to the City of Bakersfield; and
WHEREAS, the territow ordered to be annexed to the City of Bakersfield
is required to be within a City Council Ward Boundaw; and
WHEREAS, the Council recently completed annexation of the territow to
the City of Bakersfield, the exterior boundaries of which are described in Exhibit '%" and
as shown in Exhibit "B" for PIERCE ROAD NO. 2 ANNEXATION attached hereto and
incorporated as though fully set forth herein: and
WHEREAS, the territow is adjacent to Ward 2 and Ward 5; and
WHEREAS, the legal description for Ward 2 and Ward 5 must be
modified; and
WHEREAS, the legal description for Ward 5 is in Exhibit "C" and the legal
description for Ward 2 is in Exhibit "D" attached hereto and incorporated as though fully
set forth herein.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of
Bakersfield as follows:
Section 1.
All of the foregoing recitals are hereby found to be true and correct.
Section 2.
Pierce Road No. 2 Annexation shall be included in Ward 5.
Section 3.
This ordinance shall be posted in accordance with the Bakersfield
Municipal Code and shall become effective upon the annexation of the above-described
territow to the City of Bakersfield, but not less than thirty (30) days from and after the
date of its passage.
