AN ORDINANCE ADDING ANNEXATION NO. 396 TO
WARD 4.
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Bakersfield adopted a resolution for
Annexation No. 396 on April 8, 1998, ordering the territory annexed to the City of
Bakersfield; and
WHEREAS, the territory ordered to be annexed to the City of Bakersfield
is required to be within a City Council Ward Boundary; and
WHEREAS, the Council recently completed annexation of the territory to
the City of Bakersfield, the exterior boundaries of which are described in Exhibit "A" and
as shown in Exhibit "B" for Annexation NO. 396 attached hereto and incorporated as
though fully set forth herein.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of
Bakersfield as follows:
Section 1.
All of the foregoing recitals are hereby found to be true and correct.
Section 2.
Annexation No. 396 shall be included in Ward 4.
Section 3.
This ordinance shall be posted in accordance with the Bakersfield
Municipal Code and shall become effective upon the annexation of the above-described
territory to the City of Bakersfield, but not less than thirty (30) days from and after the
date of its passage.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was passed and
adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular meeting thereof held on

ANNEXATION NO. 396
A portion of the southeast 1/4 of Section 35, Township 29 South, Range 26 East, M.D. M., County
of Kern, State of California, more particularly described as follows:
Commencing at the southeast comer of said Section 35, said comer being officially marked by a
Kera County Surveyoffs Concrete Monument and designated as 676,840.257 feet North,
1,658,681.017 feet East per the California Coordinate System, Zone 5;
Thence South 89° 37' 19" West, along the south line of said Section 35, a distance of 400.00 feet
to intersect the southerly ~olongation of the west line of Lot 33 of Tract No. 3620 per map filed
in Map Book 30, Page 186 in the office of the Kern County Recorder, said point also being on the
existing exterior corporate boundary line of the City of Bakersfield and is the TRUE POINT OF
BEGINNING;
Theace (1) departing from said corporate boundary, North 00° 19' 41" West, along said west lot line
(and prolongation thereof), 175.00 feet to the northwest comer of said Lot 33;
Thence (2) North 89° 37' 19" East, along the north line of .,;aid lot, a distance of 345.00 feet to a
point on the west line of the east 55 feet of said Section 35 (west right of way line of Allen Road),
also being a point on the existing corporate boundary of the Ci~ of Bakersfield;
Theace (3) southerly and westerly along said existing corporate boundary line to the TRUE POINT
OF BEGINNING.
