A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD, DESIGNATING A OLD TOWN KERN - PIONEER
REDEVELOPMENT SURVEY AREA FOR STUDY PURPOSES.
WHEREAS. the City Council of the City of Bakersfield, California (the "Council"), has
adopted an ordinance finding the need for a redevelopment agency to function in the City of
Bakersfield; and
WHEREAS, the redevelopment agency has been duly organized as the Central District
Development Agency (the "CDDA"), with a board of directors separate from the City Council; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 33310 of the Califomia Health and Safety Coder this
Council, as the legislative body, may designate a redevelopment survey area for study purposes; and
WHEREAS, said redevelopment survey area is graphically depicted on Exhibit "A" attached
hereto and incorporated herein by this reference: and
WHEREAS~ the area depicted on Exhibit "A' requires study to determine if the formation
of a redevelopment project area is feasible; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 33322, the Planning Commission of the City of
Bakersfield shall, at the direction of the Council and in cooperation with the CDDA, select a project
area from within the boundaries of the survey area and formulate a preliminary plan for the area so
selected.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Bakersfield hereby resolves as follows:
The area depicted in Exhibit "A" requires study to determine if a redevelopment
project, or projects, within said area is feasible.
The area depicted in Exhibit "A" and referenced in Section 1 herein is hereby
designated as the Old Town Kern - Pioneer Redevelopment Survey Area.

The Planning Commission of the City of Bakersfield is hereby authorized and
directed, in cooperation with the CDDA, to select a redevelopment project area from
within the boundaries of the Old Town Kem- Pioneer Survey Area and to formulate
a preliminary plan for the area so selected for submittal to the CDDA.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted by the Council
of the City of Bakersfield at a regular meeting thereof held on d~lN ~ 4[ ~ by the following vote:
