A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD, DESIGNATING A SOUTHEAST BAKERSFIELD
REDEVELOPMENT SURVEY AREA FOR STUDY PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Bakersfield, California (the "Council"), has
adopted an ordinance finding the need for a redevelopment agency to function in the City of
Bakersfield; and
WHEREAS, the redevelopment agency has been duly organized as the Central District
Development Agency (the "CDDA"), with a board of directors separate from the City Council; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 33310 of the Califbmia Health and Safety Code, this
Council, as the legislative body, may designate a redevelopment survey area for study purposes; and
WHEREAS, said redevelopment survey area is graphically depicted on Exhibit "A" attached
hereto and incorporated herein by this reference; and
WHEREAS, the area depicted on Exhibit "A' requires study to determine if the formation
of a redevelopment project area is feasible; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 33322, the Planning Commission of the City of
Bakersfield shall, at the direction of the Council and in cooperation with the C DDA, select a project
area from within the boundaries of the survey area and formulate a preliminary plan for the area so
selected.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Bakersfield hereby resolves as follows:
1. The area depicted in Exhibit "A" requires study to determine if a redevelopment
project, or projects, within said area is feasible.
2. The area depicted in Exhibit ~'A" and referenced in Section 1 herein is hereby
designated as the Southeast Bakersfield Redevelopment Survey Area.

The Planning Commission of the City of Bakersfield is hereby authorized and
directed, in cooperation with the CDDA, to select a redevelopment project area from
within the boundaries of the Southeast Bakersfield Survey Area and to formulate a
preliminary plan for the area so selected for submittal to the CDDA.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted by the Council
of the City of Bakersfield at a regular meeting thereof held on dl/~t 2 4 ~by the following vote:

PROPOSED STUDY AREA
