AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF BAKERSFIELD AMENDING SECTION 5.02.300
(56) OF THE BAKERSFIELD MUNICIPAL CODE REGARDING
LICENSE RATES FOR PALMISTS, FORTUNE TELLERS, AND
CLAIRVOYANTS.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield
as follows:
SECTION 1.
Section 5.02.300 (56) of the Bakersfield Municipal Code
is hereby amended to read as follows:
Section 5.02.300 Business Tax - Flat rate.
Annually
56. Palmist, fortune teller, clairvoyant, $300.00*
etc. (*except at conferences, seminars,
or similar gatherings of a duration of
four or less days, attended by 20 or
more such palmists, fortune tellers,
clairvoyants, etc., each person perform-
ing services for compensation shall
pay a license fee of $15.00)
This ordinance
pursuant to Section 24 of
and
SECTION 2.
is declared to be an emergency ordinance
the Charter of the City of Bakersfield,
shall become effective immediately upon its passage.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Emergency Ordinance
was passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield
at a regular meeting thereof held on the 3Oth day of May ,
