NEW SERIES
AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF BAKERSFIELD AMENDING SECTION 17.60.020(g)(2)
OF THE BAKERSFIELD MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO
REMOVAL OF NONCONFORMING SIGNS.
WHEREAS, a comprehensive revision of Chapter 17.60 of
the Bakersfield Municipal Code has been prepared and is being
considered at a public hearing before the Planning Commission;
WHEREAS, it is deemed inappropriate that Section
17.60.260(g)(2) of that Chapter requiring removal of noncon-
forming signs by March 30, 1985, be enforced pending completion
of Commission and council considerations of and action on the
proposed revision; and
WHEREAS, this emergency ordinance is necessary for the
immediate preservation of property.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the
City of Bakersfield as follows:
SECTION 1.
Section 17.60.260(g)(2) of the Bakersfield Municipal
Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
17.60.260 Nonconforminq siqns.
(g)(2) The following signs made nonconforming by the

provided in Section 17.54.040(c) of this
chapter;
(D) Outlining of a building except as otherwise
provided in Section 17.54.040(b) of this
chapter;
(E) Signs not illuminated in accordance with this
chapter;
(F) Signs in excess of the number specified by
this chapter.
SECTION 2.
This ordinance is declared to be an emergency ordinance
pursuant to Section 24 of the Charter of the City of Bakersfield
and shall become effective immediately upon its passage.
