AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF BAKERSFIELD AMENDING WARD BOUNDARIES.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield
as follows:
SECTION 1.
Section 4.04.010 of the Bakersfield Municipal Code is
hereby amended to read as follows:
4.04.010 Boundaries of the first ward. The boundaries
of the First Ward are hereby amended to read as follows:
All that part of the City of Bakersfield beginning at the inter-
section of the centerline of California Avenue with the west
right-of-way line of Union Avenue;
Thence Northerly along the west line of Union Avenue to the north
right-of-way line of California Avenue;
Thence Easterly along the north right-of-way line of California
Avenue to the centerline of Union Avenue;
Thence Northerly along the centerline of Union Avenue to the cen-
terline of the A.T.&S.F. Railroad;
Thence Easterly along the centerline of the A.T.&S.F. Railroad to
the centerline of Beale Avenue;
Thence Southerly along the centerline of Beale Avenue to the cen-
terline of East Truxtun Avenue;
Thence Easterly along the centerline of East Truxtun Avenue to
the centerline of Washington Street, said point being a point on
the City Limit line;
Thence Southerly and along various courses of the City Limit line
to the easterly prolongation of the centerline of Custer Avenue;
Thence Westerly along the centerline of Custer Avenue to the cen-
terline of Fremont Street;
Thence Northerly along the centerline of Fremont Street to the
centerline of Doolittle Avenue;
Thence Westerly along the centerline of Doolittle Avenue to the
centerline of Marshall Street;
Thence Southerly along the centerline of Marshall Street to the
c~nterline of Custer Avenue;
Thence Westerly along the centerline of Custer Avenue to the cen-
terline of Benton Street;

SECTION 2.
Section 4.04.020 of the Bakersfield Municipal Code is
hereby amended to read as follows:
4.04.010 Boundaries of the second ward. The boundaries
of the Second Ward are hereby amended to read as follows:
All that part of the City of Bakersfield beginning at the inter-
section of the centerline of California Avenue with the cen-
terline of Oak Street;
Thence Easterly along the centerline of California Avenue to
intersect the northerly prolongation of the centerline of Pine
Street;
Thence Northerly along the northerly prolongation of the cen-
terline of Pine Street and the centerline of Pine Street to the
centerline of Truxtun Avenue;
Thence Westerly alonq the centerline of Truxtun Avenue to the
centerline of Myrtle Street;
Thence Northerly along the centerline of Myrtle Street to the
centerline of 24th Street;
Thence Westerly along the centerline of 24th Street to intersect
the southerly prolongation of the centerline of the north-south
20-foot alley adjacent to the west line of Block 11 of Tract
1387 located between Beech Street and Elm Street;
SECTION 5.
Section 4.04.050 of the Bakersfield Municipal Code is
hereby amended to read as follows:
4.04.050 Boundaries of the fifth ward. The boundaries
of the Fifth Ward are hereby amended to read as follows:
All that part of the City of Bakersfield beginning at the inter-
section of the north line of Stockdale Highway and the east line
of the west half of Section 34, Township 29 South, Range 27 East,
M.D.B.&M.;
Thence Easterly along the north line of Stockdale Highway to
intersect the east line of said Section 34;
Thence Northerly along the east line of said Section 34 to inter-
sect the southerly right-of-way line of the Carrier Canal;
Thence Northeasterly along the southerly right-of-way line of the
Carrier Canal to intersect the north right-of-way line of the
A.T.&S.F. Railroad;
Thence Easterly along the north right-of-way line of the
A.T.&S.F. Railroad to intersect the westerly right-of-way line of
State Route 99 Freeway;
Thence Southerly along the westerly right-of-way line of State
Route 99 Freeway to the south right-of-way line of the A.T.&S.F.
Railroad;
Thence Easterly along the south right-of-way line of the
A.T.&S.F. Railroad to the easterly right-of-way line of State

Section 4.04.060 of the Bakersfield Municipal Code is
hereby amended to read as follows:
4.04.060 Boundaries of the sixth ward. The boundaries
of the Sixth Ward are hereby amended to read as follows:
All that part of the City of Bakersfield beginning at the inter-
section of the east right-of-way line of Baldwin Road and the
north right-of-way line of Ming Avenue being 30 feet north of the
centerline;
Thence Southerly along the southerly prolongation of the east
right-of-way line of Baldwin Road to the centerline of Ming Avenue;
Thence Westerly along the centerline of Ming Avenue to the cen-
terline of Hughes Lane;
Thence Southerly along the centerline of Hughes Lane to the cen-
terline of Wilson Road;
Thence Westerly along the centerline of Wilson Road to intersect
the centerline of Wible Road, said intersection being the west
quarter corner of Section 12, Township 30 South, Range 27 East;
Thence Southerly along the west line of said Section 12 to
interesect the centerline of Planz Road, said intersection being
the southwest corner of said Section 12;
Thence Easterly along the centerline of Planz Road to a point on
the west right-of-way line of State Route 99 Freeway (Bakersfield

Section 4.04.070 of the Bakersfield Municipal Code is
hereby amended to read as follows:
4.04.070 Boundaries of the seventh ward. The bounda-
ries of the Seventh Ward are hereby amended to read as follows:
All that part of the City of Bakersfield beginning at the inter-
section of the easterly prolongation of the centerline of Custer
Avenue and the east right-of-way line of the Kern Island Canal,
said intersection being a point on the City Limit line;
Thence Southerly and along various courses of the City Limit line
to a point on the west right-of-way line of State Route 99
Freeway (Bakersfield Bypass), said point also being a point on the
north line of Tract 3497;
Thence Northerly along the last-named west right-of-way line to
the centerline of Planz Road;
Thence Westerly along the centerline of Planz Road to intersect
the centerline of Wible Road, said intersection being a point on
the west line of Section 12, Township 30 South, Range 27 East;
Thence Northerly along the last-named west line to the centerline
of Wilson Road;
Thence Easterly along the centerline of Wilson Road to the cen-
terline of Hughes Lane;
Thence Northerly along the centerline of Hughes Lane to the cen-
terline of Echo Avenue;

This ordinance shall be posted in accordance with the
City charter provisions and shall become effective thirty (30)
days from and after the date of its passage.
