AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD ADDING SECTIONS 17.04.610 AND
17.0~.260 TO THE BAKERSFIELD ~UNICIPAL CODE
RELATING TO TEMPORARY PROMOTIONAL ACTIVITIES.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council ot the City ot Bakersfield
as tollows:
SECTION 1.
Section 17.U4.§IU is hereby added to the Bakersfield
Municipal Code to read as tollows:
17.U4.61U Temporary promotional activity.
"Temporary promotional activity" means an activity such
as an arts and/or crafts sale, petting zoo, carnival, amusement
ride or rides, or similar activity conducted on the premises ot
an existing business or shopping center, with the permission of
and to promote such business or shopping center, for a period of
time not to exceed tire consecutive days or ten days ~n any cal-
endar year.
SECTION 2.
Section 1;.U8.260 is hereby added to the Bakersfield
Municipal Code to read as tollows:
11.08.26U Temporary promotional activities.
A. Notwithstanding any other provision of this title,
temporary promotional activities may be permitted in any nonresi-
dential zone by permit issued by the planning director.
B. The planning d~rector shall determine the ~n~orma-
tion to be provided ~n each application ~or a temporary promo-
tional activity permit and may condition each such permit as he
deems appropriate ~n ~urtherance ot the purposes ot this title
and the pub£~c health and satety. The Council, by resolution,
shall set the ~ee to be paid tor processing each such application.
C. All such conditions shall be set ~orth in writing on
the permit and the permit shall be displayed in public view upon
the premises ot the temporary promotional activity.

SECTION 3.
This ordinance shall be posted in accordance with
