HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD NO 2992EMERGENCY ORDINANCE NO. 2992 NEW SERIES AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE LEVYING UPON THE FULL TAXABLE VALUE OF THE TAXABLE PROPERTY IN THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD, EXCEPT THAT AREA KNOWN AS THE RIO BRAVO ANNEXATION, A PERCENTAGE RATE OF TAXATION UPON EACH DOLLAR OF VALUATION FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING JULY 1, 1985, AND ENDING JUNE 30, 1986. WHEREAS, this Emergency Ordinance is necessary for the appropriation of funds providing for the operation of municipal departments and ~or the immediate preservation of public property for the reason that this ordinance must be received by the Kern County Assessor not later than August 30, 1985, in order that the tax levy be effective this tiscal year, the amount of such levy could not be determined until after the City received the City's total assessed value from the Kern County Assessor on August 16, 1985, and the levy is necessary to satisfy the City's obligations concerning its bonded indebtedness. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield as follows: SECTION 1. That there is hereby levied a tax of .001'798 percent on each dollar ($1.00) o~ the full taxable value of all taxable pro- perty within the City of Bakersfield, except that area known as the Rio Bravo Annexation, County o~ Kern, State of California, for Municipal Improvement Bonds, Series A, Interest and Redemption Fund, during the fiscal year beginning with the first day of July, 1985, and ending with the thirtieth day of June, 1986. SECTION 2. That there is hereby levied a tax ot .004570 percent on each dollar ($1.00) of the full taxable value of all taxable pro- perty within the City of Bakersfield, except that area known as the Rio Bravo Annexation, County of Kern, State o~ California, for Municipal Improvement Bonds, Series B, Interest and Redemption fund, during the fiscal year beginning with the first day of July, 1985, and ending with the thirtieth day of June, 19~6. SECTION 3. This Emergency Ordinance is necessary for the appropriation of funds providing for the operation of municipal departments, for the immediate preservation ot public property, and shall Decome effective immediately upon its passage. .......... o0o ..........
