HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD NO 2880EMERGENCY ORDINANCE NO. 2~QQ ....... NEW SERIES AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD AMENDING SECTIONS 8.32.030 A. B., C. 1., D., SECTION 8.32.040, AND SECTION 8.32.050 RELATIVE TO REFUSE COLLECTION CHARGES. WHEREAS, on August 3, 1983, the City Council .of the City of Bakersfield adopted Emergency Ordinance No. 2863 New Series setting refuse collection charges; and WHEREAS, in the period of time since adoption of said Ordinance, the City of Bakersfield has been assured of additional monies from the State of California reducing the City's need for revenue from refuse collection services by fifty percent; and WHEREAS, adoption of this ordinance as an emergency ordinance to revise the refuse collection charges specified in Emergency Ordinance No. 2863 New Series is necessary for the immediate preservation of property. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield as follows: SECTION 1. Sections 8.32.030 A. 1., B., C. 1., and D. of the Bakersfield Municipal Code are amended to read as follows: 8.32.030 Nature and schedule of disposal charges. A. 1. Charge, one dollar and seventy cents ($1.70 month. per Multiple-family dwellings shall have the following: 1. For duplexes, triplexes and fourplexes: charge, one dollar and forty cents ($1.40) per unit; twice per week pickups. 2. For complexes of more than four units: charge one dollar and forty cents ($1.40) per unit, with the use of standard containers, or the charge set forth in Schedule A of this chapter, with optional use of detachable bins; service, twice per week pickups of standard containers, or service under Schedule A of this chapter if option exercised for use of detachable bins. C. 1. Charge, one dollar and seventy cents ($1.70) per month, minimum, or one dollar and forty cents ($1.40) per month per unit, with use of standard containers; or the charge set forth in Schedule A of this chapter, with optional use of detachable bins; or the charge set forth in Schedule B of this chapter, with optional use of more than two standard containers and/or more than twice a week pickup. D. Any place, premises or use of property using the stationary compactor and dropoff box: twenty-nine dollars and eighty cents ($29.80) shall be charged per collection. Section 8.32.050 of the Bakersfield Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows: 8.32.050 Section B - Schedule of monthly charges for standard containers. This Emergency Ordinance is necessary for the immediate preservation of property, shall become effective immediately upon its passage, and the reduction of rates and charges hereby made shall be applied retroactive to September 1, 1983. .......... o0o ..........
