A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE
APPLICATION FOR GRANT FUNDS FOR THE
KERN RIVER PARKWAY PROJECT
(PROPOSITION 12).
WHEREAS, the Legislature and Governor of the State of California have approved
a grant for the project shown above; and
WHEREAS, the State Resources Agency has been delegated the responsibility for
the administration of the project, setting up necessary procedures; and
WHEREAS, said procedures established by the State Resources Agency require
the City of Bakersfield to certify by resolution the approval of an application before
submission of said application to the State; and
WHEREAS, the City will enter into an agreement with the State of California for the
project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield
as follows:
The above recitals are true and correct and are incorporated herein by
reference.
The City of Bakersfield approves the filing of an application in the amount of
$2.5 Million for the Kern River Parkway Project.
The City certifies that it understands the assurances and certification in the
application form and that it has or will have sufficient funds to operate and
maintain the project.
The City further certifies that it has reviewed and understands the General
Provision contained in the Project Agreement shown in the Procedural
Guide.

The City Council hereby appoints the Water Resources Manager or his
designee as agent to conduct all negotiations, execute and submit all
documents including, but not limited to, applications, agreements, payment
requests, etc., which may be necessary for the completion of the
aforementioned project.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted by the
Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular meeting thereof held on NOV 15 ZOO[} ,
