A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE GRANT OF
FUNDS FOR THE KERN RIVER PARKWAY
PROJECT (PROPOSITION 13).
WHEREAS, the California Governor's Budget Act for 2000, Chapter 52, Statutes of
2000, appropriated to the State Department of Water Resources Local Assistance Grants
Funds in the amount of $2.5 Million by Budget Item 3860-101-6015, payable from the River
Protection Subaccount; and
WHEREAS, these funds were allocated for the Kern River Parkway Project,
between the mouth of the Kern River Canyon and Interstate Highway 5; and
WHEREAS, the City of Bakersfield has agreed to act as the local agency to
implement this project and to enter into a letter agreement with the State Department of
Water Resources for commitment of the $2.5 Million for the project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield
as follows:
The above recitals are true and correct and are incorporated herein by
reference.
The City hereby accepts the above described grant monies in the amount of
$2.5 Million,
The City hereby designates the Water Resources Manager or his designee
to sign to the letter agreement and execute any and all other documents
necessary concerning this grant.
