AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD AMENDING CHAPTER 15.20 OF THE
BAKERSFIELD MUNICIPAL CODE RELATIVE TO
UNIFORM HOUSING CODE.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council
as follows:
SECTION 1.
That Chapter 15.20 of the Municipal

amended to read as follows:
Chapter 15.20
UNIFORM HOUSING CODE
amended - County
Adoption.
Deletions.
Modifications.
Section 201(b)
the City of
Health Officer.
15.20.010 Adoption. Except as otherwise provided in this
Chapter, that certain housing code known and designated as the
"Uniform Housing Code, 1979 Edition," sponsored and copyrighted
by the International Conference of Building Officials, three (3)
copies of which have been filed with the City Clerk of the City
for use and examination by the public, is adopted by reference as
modified and amended in this Chapter and is declared to be the
code of the City for the purpose of providing requirements
protection of life, limb, health, property and safety and
of the general public and the owners and occupants of
housing
for the
welfare
residential buildings.
15.20.020 Deletions. The following sections of the Uniform
Housing Code, 1979 Edition, are not adopted as part of this
Chapter and are deleted:
Section 20~t, Housing Advisory and Appeals Board;
Section 502(b), Yards;
Sectin 502(d), Projection into Yards.
15.20.030 Modifications. The section of the Uniform Housing
Code, 1979 Edition, mentioned in Section 15.20.040 is amended as
set forth in Section 15.20.040.
15.20.040 Section 201(b) amended - County Health Officer.
201 is amended by adding subsection (b) 'thereto, as

follows:
(b)
County Health Officer. The enforcement of this Housing
Code by the Building Director shall not prevent the enforcement
of the State Housing Law and applicable regulations by the County
Health Officer.
SECTION 2.
This ordinance shall be posted in accordance with the
City Charter provisions and shall become effective thirty (30)
days from and after the date of its passage.
