AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD AMENDING CHAPTER 15.16 OF THE
BAKERSFIELD MUNICIPAL CODE RELATIVE TO
UNIFORM MECHANICAL CODE.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council
as follows:
SECTION 1.
That Chapter 15.16 of the Municipal
Bakersfield is hereby amended to read as follows:

15.16.010 Adoption.

platform requirement.
15.16.010 Adoption. Except as provided in this Chapter, that
certain uniform mechanical code known and designated as the
"Uniform Mechanical Code, 1979 Edition," which Code was sponsored
and copyrighted by the International Conference of Building
Officials and the International Association of Plumbing and
Mechanical Officials, three (3) copies of which are filed in the
office of the City Clerk of the City for use and examination by
the public, and each portion and provision thereof is adopted by
reference as modified and amended in this Chapter and is declared
to be the mechanical code of the City for the purpose of regulating
the erection, construction, enlargement, alteration, repair,
moving, removal, demolition, conversion, occupancy, use, height
and maintenance of all structures and certain equipment therein
specifically regulated within the incorporated limits of the City
and providing for the issuance of permits and the collection of
fees thereof.
15.16.020 Deletions. The following section of the Uniform
Mechanical Code, 1979 Edition, is not adopted as part of this
Chapter and is deleted:
Section 203, Board of Appeals.
15.16.030 Modifications. The sections of the Uniform Mechanical
Code mentioned ~n Sections 15.16.040 and 15.16.050 are amended to
read as set forth in Sections 15.16.040 and 15.16.050.
15.16.040 Section 304 (22) and (23) added - Fees. Items 22
and 23 are added to Table 3-A as follows:

SECTION 2.
This ordinance shall be posted in accordance with the
City Charter provisions and shall become effective thirty (30)
days from and after the date of its passage.
